From February 2010 until December 2011 I was based with the Rainbow Research Group in the Computer Laboratory at the University of Cambridge. My fellowship was jointly supported by Alan Blackwell in the Computer Laboratory and Paul Fletcher in the Dept of Psychiatry. I also worked closely with Per Ola Kristensson (now at St Andrews) and with James Moore (now in Goldsmiths). When in Dublin, I was based at the Trinity Centre for Bioengineering. My mentor in Trinity College Dublin was Richard Reilly.

Much of my work over the past few years has been conducted in collaboration with Gavin Doherty at Trinity College Dublin. Gavin was my PhD supervisor and we subsequently worked together on several projects. I also work in close collaboration with John Sharry and Mark Matthews. John is the Principal Social Worker in the Department of Child and Family Psychiatry at the Mater Hospital Dublin. Mark and I worked together to develop Personal Investigator.

Gary O’Reilly (Deputy Director of the Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology, University College Dublin) and Nicola McGlade have used PlayWrite to create a game called gNatenborough’s Island, which implements core aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. We are currently undertaking detailed clinical evaluations this game.
